Track-Prepped AP2 Up For Grabs With Enticing Price Tag

Track Ready

While the values of low-mile, stock S2000s continue to skyrocket, it somewhat leaves those that like to take these cars to the track out in the cold. But we've seen several reasonably-priced track builds in the S2Ki Marketplace in recent months, including this 2003 model that recently sold in a jiffy.

Building It Up

This AP2 featured an asking price of just $14k and offered a lot of content for that little amount of money. That included a motor with 82k miles on it versus the 147k car. The powerplant is a stock AP2 short block with an AP1 head that's been treated to a host of BC valvetrain components including valves, springs, and retainers.

Other Upgrades

Other upgrades under the hood include a K&N intake, PLM header, 70mm test pipe, HKS Hi-Power cat-back exhaust, and Mishimoto radiator. The ECU is stock, as is the transmission, but the latter features a Ballade Sports Clutch kit.

Moving Underneath

Moving underneath, you'll find Ballade Sports axle spacers, HKS Hipermax III coilovers, SS lines and Project Mu Club Racing pads for the braking system, and a set of Enkei Racing RPF1 wheels wrapped with Hankook RS3 tires measuring in at 255/40.

Cabin Upgrades

The interior has been treated to a host of mods as well, including a Sparco Circuit driver-side racing seat with a five-point harness and a Recaro Pole Position passenger seat with a four-point harness, Buddy Club seat rails, a Sparco Competition steering wheel with NRG quick release, and a Rock Star Garage roll bar.

Exterior Mods

Exterior mods include a Mugen hard-top, carbon-fiber trunk. APR GT250 65-inch rear wing with a custom rear chassis mount and APR wing stands, a 3-inch Wasp Splitter with custom air dam, and an AP2 front bumper.

Great Score

Obviously, this AP2 is a no-show queen and has some bumps and bruises from track use. But for some, that only adds to its appeal. Clearly, someone got a good deal and a fun car here, and in the S2000 world, that's becoming harder and harder to find.
