Car Culture's Comeback

It has been a gradual return to normal, as we near the end of the battle with the pandemic as a nation. And slowly but surely, we're seeing more and more massive turnouts at car shows around the country. And while we've missed driving out to meets and spending time with fellow enthusiasts, the longing for these events will have made car culture's comeback even more impactful.

Awareness for Autism

And what better way to bring automotive fanatics together again than with a great cause. Organized by Orange County's ARK Movement, the message behind this particular car show was to raise awareness for autism. With a low fee for display cars to enter and free admission for the public, the great turnout is no surprise.

Acts of Random Kindness

Founded in 2014, the ARK Movement (short for Acts of Random Kindness) was initially focused on helping Orange County's homeless, at-risk youth, and food banks. Over the years, they've organized a number of gatherings geared toward automotive enthusiasts to help bring in donations.

Over $10K Raised

The show gathering held earlier last week was in collaboration with the Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Orange County. Over $10,000 was raised at the event, which will be donated to help the families of those with ASD, ADHD, and other related disorders.

Variety of Cars

The event brought in a large number of cars, which were gathered at the top few levels of a parking structure in Anaheim. A wide variety, as well, with participants ranging from lightly modified cars to thorough builds. Japanese brands had a huge presence, but there were also appearances from German and American makes.

For a Great Cause

The large number of visitors meant there was never a shortage of foot traffic during the 4-hour show. The Southern California sun didn't make too many appearances, with the weather being overcast. But a cool shade from the clouds isn't always a bad thing. It was a great event for a great cause. And as we ease our way back to normalcy, we look forward to seeing more and more of these pop-ups.
