The Best of Gridlife Midwest Festival 2018
Music, cars, and fellow enthusiasts.
Gridlife
It's amazing to see how far Gridlife has come since its inception. Surely, the events and festivals have far exceeded Gridlife founder, Chris Stewart's visions. He started it out as high-performance driver education events here and there. But the appeal has continued to grow rapidly, turning those small local track days into these great celebrations. Super Street covered the event with great photographic detail, and we've gathered the best of it for you.
All Kinds of Fun
The philosophy behind Gridlife can be easily boiled down to the idea of partying around fast cars. It takes a lot more work than just that to bring these awesome events together, and the Gridlife crew work tirelessly to make sure everything is in order for every event. The festivals consist of track competitions, car shows, drifting, music, and a whole lot of partying.

The Festivals
Of the 6 events hosted by Gridlife each year, two of them are festivals. As mentioned, these parties are meant to be celebrations of cars, and the company of people with whom you share that passion for cars. The Midwest festival is held at the Gingerman Raceway located in South Haven, Michigan. It is a fantastic site for the celebrations as it provides just the right amount of infrastructure for Gridlife.

Gingerman
A nice and tidy track, surrounded by plenty of open space for spectators to camp out and not a whole lot of civilization around to interrupt the proceedings. Plenty of great track food makes appearances for the party people not to go hungry. It is the perfect setting for the Gridlife fest.

Festivities
The free-spirited nature of the festival creates a truly fun atmosphere for all to enjoy. No worries about curfew or getting back home will be a cause of concern. You are free to do anything you like--as long as it is legal.

TrackBattle
Gridlife Midwest 2018 saw the second round of Gridlife TrackBattle. A multitude of high-performance cars compete in this series of time-attack runs for season points and to see who truly is the fastest. Canadian competitor William Au-Yeung scored the fastest lap of the weekend with 1:23.775 in his 9th-gen Honda Civic.

Lots of Drifting...
What would a high-performance automotive festival without drifting? Gridlife did not fail to disappoint in this department. Competitors produced some spectacular scenery sliding around the track for everyone to enjoy. Among the big names taking part were Chris Fosberg, Tanner Foust, and Ryan Tuerck.

It's a party
All in all, Gridlife Midwest Festival is a combination of all things fun and awesome. You get to spend your days surrounded by cool customized cars on display, drifting, or racing. And later at night, you get to have some live music fun. But the most enjoyable part of the experience is the people. If not for the potential friendships, being around people who are excited by the same things you are for a weekend is quite refreshing for the soul.
