Super Cool Spoon-Heavy S2000s Are Pure Eye Candy
Spoon's long-time partnership with Honda paid off with these three amazing builds.
Preferred Partner
Spoon Sports has been making Honda vehicles faster and better looking since 1988 when the Japanese tuner and parts manufacturer originally broke onto the scene. Thanks to a close relationship with Honda, Spoon has maintained its status as the automaker's preferred tuning partner for some years now, and it has the racing wins and cool builds one might expect to back up that status. Here are three of the coolest Spoon-heavy S2000s we've come across in recent years.

Showroom Stock
Spoon's S2000 racer is a pretty famous machine, and it's also one that wasn't necessarily built for show. Rather, this car has seen a heavy amount of use on the track, in the ST4 class of Super Taikyu (Super Endurance), which pits showroom stock-powered rides against each other that are mostly untouched in terms of engine upgrades.

Built to Perfection
The engine in Spoon's sweet racer has been balanced and blueprinted to perfection, at least, and is controlled by a Motec ECU. Otherwise, the car is fitted with a host of Spoon parts, an all-business cabin, Spoon N1 exhaust, and lots of Spoon's aero bits, including diffusers, a giant rear wing, and a hardtop. It's a gorgeous machine, for sure, even though that wasn't really the focus here.

Top Concept
When Spoon wanted to build something special to mark its launch in the U.S. some years ago, it came up with this amazing build, which features essentially the tuner's entire catalog of goodies. Perhaps its most interesting feature, however, is the open-air concept top that is machined completely out of billet aluminum and gives one the thrill of top-down driving while also shielding occupants from the elements.

Entire Catalog
The rest of this build is chock full of goodies, including a set of Spoon CR93 tires wrapped with Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R tires, Spoon fenders, four-piston Spoon monoblock calipers, Spoon Aero bumpers, an S-Tai hood and rear diffuser, a Spoon GT rear wing, Aero mirrors, and a cabin filled with stuff including a Spoon steering wheel and Recaro/ASM RS-G seats.

JDM Tribute
Finally, we have Inspire USA's S2000, which was built as a tribute of sorts to the world of JDM parts and tuning. As a result, the list of Spoon goodies on this particular Honda is long as well, though the Advan Racing RZ wheels are one of the few departures. Otherwise, the built starts underneath with a Spoon damper kit, stabilizer bars, cross beam bars, and strut bars.

Proper Tribute
The same goes for the powertrain, which features only an A'PEXi exhaust to go along with nothing but Spoon goodies under the hood, as well as inside the cabin. Overall, it's a fantastic tribute to the JDM world, which has been virtually dominated by Spoon for decades now.
