S2000 Transforms into a Laguna Seca Blue Beauty
Want to make your S2000 a little more exciting? Well here's a step-by-step guide on how to do just that.
Taking Action
Most of us obviously love our cars. But there comes a time when you just want more out of it. Maybe the paint is chipped or faded, or perhaps the once-exciting performance just doesn't do it for you anymore. S2KI forum member myslows2k found himself in that predicament several years ago. Thus, he decided to do something about it.
Built-In Excuses
The first order of business was doing something about the beaten up exterior appearance. The OP's poor yellow S2000 had lots of chips and scratches at the time, which gave him a great reason to repaint it.
Sanding, and More Sanding
But instead of farming out the work to a shop, he decided to tackle the job himself. Thus, he got to work sanding, priming, sanding, and more sanding.
Small Setback
Unfortunately, as he was hard at work on the body, tragedy struck. The OP was hit by another driver, which damaged one of the fenders. But he soon received an insurance check and was back on track.
Laguna Blue Stunner
Before you know it, a fresh coat of Laguna Seca Blue covered this S2000's flanks. And it was already looking downright gorgeous. Despite his modesty about the quality of work and his crappy phone camera, we certainly aren't complaining.
Hard up Top
This certainly wasn't the end of the line for this refreshed Honda, however. The OP soon fitted his hard top, which required a good bit of adjustment to make right.
Positive Progress
The feedback to this point was 100% positive, of course. Because who the heck doesn't love Laguna Seca Blue on an S2000? The OP did decide to leave his hard top unpainted, however, letting the carbon fiber shine through.
Rough Luck
Insanely enough, however, the OP's ride soon suffered yet another accident when his neighbor backed into the car's front bumper and damaged it. And then, it suffered some hail damage. Talk about bad luck!
Setbacks and Upgrades
That didn't stop the OP from fixing it up and fitting a new CR front lip. He also picked up some RX7 splitters and a fresh set of wheels to further the appearances of his ride.
Don't Change
In the end, the OP resisted the urge to do yet another color change and kept things as-is. And we're glad he did. Because the more Laguna Seca Blue S2000s we have in our lives, the better!
