Rear wing or no?
Robert Fullerton (aka Robi) is a Southern California based tuner and driving coach. He has helped names like Oscar Jackson Jr. win the SCCA runoffs as a chassis consultant and has been contracted by big names like KW and P7 Racing for his knowledge of suspension setup. In part 2 of my interview with Robi, I asked him to think of 5 things not to do to a street/track based S2000. Here are his thoughts.
Robi Says: Don’t put a wing on the car if you’ve followed my previous guide. A wing provides stability, but everything I’ve done has given the S2000 more flexible and repeatable performance in the back end and calmed it down. That’s exactly what a wing does, the difference being a wing causes a large amount of drag. You’ll be quicker with a given amount of horsepower not wearing a wing, but calming a chassis down.
