Peaked Interest

S2000 fans have quite the resource here in the S2Ki forums. There, you'll find tech advice, great pictures, and a seemingly endless supply of build threads. Which we obviously sift through a lot. During a recent binge, we came across member jaor.s2k's AP2 project, which certainly peaked our interest with some stunning photography.

Making a Transfer

The OP calls his Laguna Blue '06 "Luna," and it's actually his second S2000. The first, a Silverstone car named "Selena," donated quite a few of its parts to the new ride. That includes a host of performance mods, including a Greddy SE V1 dual exhaust, Mugen style Carbon8 intake, T1R 70mm resonated test pipe, and a tune, to name a few.

Going Backwards

When the OP originally purchased his new ride, it had a slew of go-fast type parts installed on the exterior. Things like a giant wing, a front lip with prop rods, and a vented hood. But the end goal of this build was more street than race, so all of those things were destined to come off. Which makes this a unique project, indeed.

Making Changes

But first, the OP fortified the suspension a bit with Ohlins DFV coilovers and Swift springs. He then sourced an OEM hood and sold the old hood and wing before hitting the track for the first time at the Streets of Willow. Afterward, he took it to the paint shop for a complete respray to make it all one color again.

Multiple Options

The de-modding continued as the OP sold the brakes that came with the car, along with the wheels that would no longer fit. He picked up a set of Advan RZII (17x10+50) wheels as a replacement, along with a second set of Volk RE30 (17x9.5 +40) hoops just for kicks.

Questionable Moves?

Quite a few other members have questioned these moves, but the OP admits he isn't a fan of vented hoods or big wings. And we say, to each their own. In the end, this AP2 is looking pretty fantastic, regardless. So be sure and head over here to stay tuned for future progress!
