Futuristic S2000 Rendering Wears Porsche-Inspired Wheels
SEAT designer David Artola once again conjures up his idea of what a new S2000 might look like.
Porsche Inspired
These days, every artist on the internet has conjured up renderings of what they think a new S2000 might look like. That includes SEAT designer David Artola, who has come up with a few ideas for Honda's legendary roadster in the past. Now, Artola is back with a new set of renderings that pair his design with a classic set of wheels - Fuchs-style pieces often seen on vintage Porsche 911 models.

Obvious Connection
Artola's new renderings depict a car that's quite similar to his previous art, though this one has several vintage Porsche cues, including the wheels and a ducktail spoiler. That connection makes a bit of sense, as Porsche developed a reputation for building lightweight, four-cylinder-powered, open-air sports cars decades ago.

Retro Futuristic
Artola's S2000 concept is otherwise thoroughly modern, however, with futuristic features like cameras that replace traditional side mirrors, as well as LED lighting everywhere. Quad exhaust tips and giant air intakes up front scream performance, as the car hugs the ground, looking fast even when it's sitting still.

Sleek and Modern
The overall design is clean, sleek, and modern, a nice take on the original S2000 that updates its design for the modern era. But we'd argue that there's a little Porsche influence in those flanks that goes beyond the wheels and spoiler, too, particularly up front.

It Was All a Dream
Rumors of an S2000 revival have swirled for years, and yet, we have nothing substantial to prove that it's going to happen. Couple this with the fact that automakers are beginning to convert their lineups to electric power, and it's hard to believe that it will ever happen at this point. But artists like Artola will continue to dream of the possibility, as will we.
