Flashback: AP1 Honda S2000 is a Superb Build
Forget about high-dollar, company-funded builds - this incredible AP1 S2000 was put together using savings earned through a fast food job.
Old Fashioned Build
Far too often, we see high dollar builds completed by rich folks or even entire companies. So every now and then, it's nice to see something funded the good old fashioned way - by working and saving up money. And that's exactly the case with Matthew Jensen's AP1 S2000 recently featured over at Super Street.

Perseverance Pays
Jensen had always wanted an S2000. But like most of us, he wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth. So at the age of 16, Jensen started flipping burgers. After years of saving up his paychecks, Jensen finally had enough to buy his dream car.
Good and Bad
The one-owner ride came with a Mugen hard top, but also a host of scratches and dents. Regardless, Jensen drove and enjoyed it for a while while he drew up his master plan to modify the AP1.
Natural Talent
After some time flipping cars on the side it eventually netted Jensen an extra $8,500 to fund his ideas. To save cash, he taught himself how to do body and paintwork on his own in his grandfather's garage. Needless to say, he was a natural.
Perfect Symmetry
The results of Jensen's hard work and careful planning is a car that flows together and doesn't look like some builds that are nothing more than a bunch of mismatched parts.
Flowing Together
On the outside, that includes parts like Circuit Garage flares, an ASM front bumper, and lip, J's Racing rear diffuser mesh, and a custom vented hood Jensen built himself using the Ford GT40 as inspiration.
Clean Shave
Under the hood, you'll find an Inline Pro built motor surrounded by an engine bay that Jensen spent many hours smoothing out. In fact, he claims that he spent more time here than anywhere else.
Rolling Solid
This AP1 beauty rolls on Volk Racing TE37V MARK II wheels measuring 18x10 up front and 18x11 in the rear. They're wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires sized at 235/35R18 and 255/35R18, respectively.
Nice Mix
Jensen didn't ignore the inside of his ride, either. There he sourced a nice mix of goodies including Bride Low Max seats and seat rails, a Mugen leather steering wheel and shift knob, Alcantara-covered C-pillars and center console, and a CR radio door.
Work Ethic
It took nearly five years to complete, but Jensen says his S2000 is nearly done. And he can take great pride in knowing that he bought and built this incredible car using nothing more than good old fashioned work ethic.
