Quirks and Features

Love it or hate it, Suki's pink S2000 is one of the more famous and well-known vehicles from the Fast & Furious movie franchise. We've featured some interesting tidbits about this car before, of course. But no one covers a car in detail like Doug DeMuro, who recently combed over the movie car with a fine tooth comb, pointing out all of its interesting quirks and features.

Impressive Art

Our tour of this film hero begins on the outside, where DeMuro points out that the team went the extra mile to make this S2000 stand out since it was going to play such a prominent role in the movie. So they gave it a VeilSide body kit, along with some seriously impressive airbrush work done by artist Noah Elias

Nice Exterior

As DeMuro points out, the incredibly low front lip spoiler and modified rocker panels makes transporting the car a bit of a pain. Throw in a new rear bumper and giant wing, along with a hard cover for the top, and you've got a pretty eye-catching combination. As DeMuro notes, the exterior of the car is quite nicely done, but that quality doesn't carry on to the interior.

Interesting Material Choice

Inside, the details sort of "fall apart," and the door panel is actually covered in a bath mat that's been cut to fit. Yes, a bath mat. The seats are covered in the same fuzzy material, as is the center console and even the shift boot. It all might have looked good on camera years ago, but it's not looking so hot today.

Serious Quirks

Then there's the center console, which is covered in red/brown looking carpet, or the felt piece glued onto the radio cover. There are also some shoddily installed pink lights to make the interior glow, The gauges on the dash are not connected to anything, and there's a Panasonic monitor that's stuck on the dashboard. Perhaps most interestingly, the car doesn't even have any seat belts, as the movie crew removed them for whatever reason.

One Notable Mod

Under the hood, this car does actually have at least one notable modification that works - a Paxton supercharger. But there are still plenty of signs of shoddy work, including pink overspray everywhere, pink lights that are just glued on randomly, and some scary looking wiring work.

Looking Ridiculous

As such, Suki's S2000 drives pretty much exactly as you'd think it would. DeMuro points out that the steering wheel is completely out of whack, and the quality is just downright terrible. "It looks like a Fast & Furious car, except it's all crap," he says. "Even here in LA, people are staring at me. I'm not about to say that's because I'm cool, it's because I'm driving around in a pink S2000 and I look like a complete idiot." This mixed experience sort of reminds us of the old saying - never meet your heroes.
