Iconic

Despite its relatively limited production run and the fact that it was axed after only one generation, the S2000 has become one of, if not the most iconic automobile in the aftermarket scene. More than a decade since production was seized, it still feels like every day, there's a new crazy build we hadn't seen yet. And here's another jaw-dropping AP1 project.

Harmonious Design

Owned by Daniel Medrano, a die-hard enthusiast, this S2000 is a build that is comprised of parts from several different brands, all working together in harmony. And that's not always the case. Heck, even a complete kit by the same manufacturer sometimes looks like it's competing against the car itself! But Medrano's project pulls it off beautifully.

Inspired by Fast and Furious

As is the case for many of us, Medrano's love for cars and modifying them was inspired by his father. Throughout his childhood, Daniel was introduced to many legends of the Japanese auto industry. And as he came of age, another influencing factor was the Fast and Furious movie franchise. And it was after watching Tokyo Drift that he knew he wanted an RWD Japanese car.

All Brands Welcome

His first go at JDM glory was a Nissan 350Z. But when he had the chance to get into the S2000 in 2014, he didn't hesitate. The car remained stock for a couple of years before Medrano crafted a vision for a unique build for the Honda. His goal from the beginning was to bring together a slew of parts from various aftermarket companies and make them work together.

Visual And Mechanical Mods

The AP1's power source was given a bump courtesy of a few bolt-on parts. The F20C now puts 225 horsepower to the rear wheels. But perhaps the most challenging aspect of completing the build was the body kit. The aggressive Car Garage Amis kit exaggerates the roadster's beautiful proportions, and it is complemented by the SARD rear wing, as well as a Voltex front bumper and a prominent VARIS carbon-fiber diffusor at the back.

Successful Project

The gorgeous hue is a variation of Gentry Silver Metallic, a Mazda paint color, and it matches the character of the car perfectly. And let's not forget about those CT Autoparts LED taillights, giving the rear fascia a fresh new look almost all on their own. In the end, it's quite safe to say that Medrano's mission has been beautifully accomplished. This S2000 combines aftermarket parts from several different brands seamlessly, creating a one-of-a-kind build in the process.
