Installed a backup camera in my truck. Now to pay the dealer 100 bucks just to tell the BCM that "camera does exist". FFS. It's go online, enter VIN, update configuration. Plug into truck and flash. That's 100 bucks. FFS. At work we call that "a relaxing lunch off the clock"

It probably would have been $100 to have them install the hardware and then they would have flashed it as part of the install.

Nope. The full install was 6 hours at 80 bucks an hour. Took me 3 reading the directions 8 times over (I hate electrical systems).

I've heard Honda dealers charge $100 to reset certain chassis codes, like the airbag one when people have messed with the steering wheel. It's crap, but not uncommon.
