Sam, Clutch assembly including clutch pressure plate, and throw out bearing typically aren't covered, just like brake pads aren't covered because they are wear items, but if I can prove that the clutch pressure plate has a defect, or that any abnormal wear was due to a failure of another component, like the slave cylinder, then I may have an argument.

Nonetheless, I just had an interesting conversation with the regional person from VWoA, who stated to me, "I spoke with the service manager at Harper VW about your car, and he said that the problem was not diagnosed yet; so, we'll see what we can do for you once the problem is diagnosed". I replied, oh really, because when I talked to them yesterday, they said that the problem had been diagnosed as the clutch pressure plate, that they would need to order a clutch kit, and quoted me exactly how much the repairs would cost. Hmm, somebody's not being completely honest...

Now, should I wait and see how this plays out, or should I call back down to Harper and confront them on the discrepancy...hmm, decisions, decisions...

Agreed to cover under warranty. Agreed that the type of failure was mechanical in nature, not wear induced.

But now you don't get to sue them. I'm sorry for your loss.

Excellent news. Curious, do you have DSG or actual manual?
