We switched Holly's Dodge loaner for a Hyundai Elantra, pleasantly surprised at how decent it is.

Still wish we had the Jetta right now though.

The fact they are fixing it by replacing the harness is a good thing, they didn't want the dealer splicing into it to fix the issue. Do I think it reasonable for it to take that long, no, of course not. I'm happy they aren't doing or allowing the dealer to do a hack job.

I bet that VW doesn't even manufacture the harness; but, they probably do something stupid like have it made by a supplier in Ohio, then shipped to Germany, and then shipped back here for your car. All those boat rides add up to 8 weeks.
