For what it's worth, us CO's didn't have much / any decision in this. However, this has and continues to be a massive undertaking. Just hang on, and I'm sure as more of the new features get ironed out and our own theme gets rolled out, we will all be liking it more and more.

I work in IT, and I get that this is a pretty massive project. However, I have NEVER run a project so poorly as this. The upgrade to this was not well executed, the hardware cannot manage the load. There is something chewing up processor (according to C3) and no one can figure out what. They went with the default, out of the box, theme. This means many of the features people use regularly no longer work. They also changed the core structure of the site, which breaks many bookmarked links.
Forgetting about the PM problem which was caused by poor execution of the plan, at least he HAD a plan for that. If this were my site, I would never have allowed this "update" to roll out with the default template and so many features missing.
While I understand the hardware problem was unexpected, when it became apparent that there was a problem I would have executed my back-out plan.

What Pete is saying is making sense, what I don't understand is, isn't there a way to test this stuff without the site being live? Once they ran into such problems, couldn't they have reverted to the "old site" and gone back for further testing to resolve the problems "behind the scenes". I don't think any user would complain about that.

Agree with everyone with their frustration... because man.. it's slow as b*lls..
side note.. there was a private forum in parallel at the same time......not excusing the fact that things weren't all fixed like they should have.. just saying that there was a private forum in parallel at the same time as the old site prior to this one..
