Default Yokohama AVS ES100 Tread Width

Alright, let me get this straight. The absolute reason everyone recomends switching from 205/225 S02's to 225/245 non-oem tires is because of the TREAD WIDTH. Right? The S02's for an AP1 if I am not mistaken are at 7.1" wide for a 205 up front, and 8.5" wide for a 225 in rear. If tire rack's information is correct, Yokohama AVS ES100's have a tread width of 7.5" for a 205/55 ( WIDER than the oem s02 ) and 8.3" for a 225 ( 0.2" smaller than an oem s02 ). The 245 Yoko has a tread width of 9.4"... almost a whole INCH wider than the factory s02. Either way, you're not going to get close to the factory stagger of about 1.5" with any combination of the above. You'd either be at 0.8" ( 8.3 and 7.5 ) instead of 1.4~", or 1.9" instead of 1.4~" ( 245/205 ) or 1.1" ( 225/245 ) My question is this... if the front's are only slightly bigger, and the rears only slightly smaller ... why squeeze a 225 and 245 on the car?

Would just like some opinions... thats all

Also, the Goodyear Eagle F1's have a 7.1" tread width up front for 205, and 9.1" width in rear for 225's...

Everybody is going to tell you to look at the sticky, but it's still based on driver preference. The 245 of non OEM is slightly wider which will give you more understeer and the 225 of non OEM is slightly thinner which will give you more oversteer.....decide what you like and buy or just buy OEM S-02s.....
