Default Would these tires be any good for my S2K

Hey guys just wondering if these tires would be any good to use in any way for my S2 at all? I got these for free and they're Yokohama Advan A048 semi slick. If they are useful please let me know if you have any suggestions of what rims might be good, i like to go 18". thanx

Ideally, you would need a 7.5" to 8" rim with about 50 to 55mm offset for the front and a 9" to 9.5" rim with about 65 to 70mm offset from the rear.

BTW, with 18" tires, you really have NO CHOICE but to go with 18" rims.

yeah i'm sorry let refrase the questions. i was wondering if the size of the tires are any good. Would 225/40/18 in front might cause any trouble with the steering or rubbing issue and would 265/35/18 in the rear would have any clearing issue?

Depends on your suspension. If stock, then you're probably fine. I'm running 225/40/18 AVS ES100 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear on stock suspension and no rubbing.

This depends on the rim offsets. If you don't have enough +offset, no, they won't work. They will rub. You must consider more than just tire size to determine the answer to your question.

with those tire sizes that were mentioned what rim size would you choose and what offset exactly? and why would you lean that way.

Thanks you, for knowledge is always informative and dependable.

The S very typically run tire sizes and aftermarket rims as follows:

225 width tire on a 7.5" rim, 55mm offset front.
255 width tire on a 9" rim, 65mm offset rear.
Except for the occasional slight rub on the front left splashshield fastener on extreme suspension compression, this setup has proven to be almost ideal. This is not saying that there are not other combinations that won't work just as well, but we can use this example as a known acceptable setup.

For these .......................... "225/40/18 - 265/35/18", if it were me (and there will be other opinions), I would go with a 7.5" rim, 55mm offset for the front tires and a 9" rim, 65mm offset for the rear tires. I could also go with 9.5" rim, 70mm offset for a 265 tire, but this all depends on if such a rim even exists.
I tend to go with what has been shown to work. Extrapolating to other combinations would be charting unknown territory.
