Default Would this offset work...?

Right well i been looking at some Volk alloys...

Well heres the link...

It has the sizes available on there...

Volks on perfect run...

Ive been doing my homework on them, and ive come up with a possible solution...

Front:

17 - 7.0 - +49 offset - with either a 215 or a 225 tyre...

Wheel will be extended out 12mm and in 0mm

Rear:

18 - 8.0 - +50 offset - with either 245 or 255 tyre...

Wheel will be extended out 21mm and in 9 mm

Or...

18 - 9.0 - +50 offset - with either a 255 or 265 tyre...

Wheel will be extended out 34mm and in 4mm

Now from an offset calc i know of, these should fit fine...

MY MAIN Q'S...

Would this affect the handling badly...??
I want optimum handling, but with looks too...

Would it be better to get either both 17's or 18's instead of a mix...??

Should i get wider tyres...??

Are the offsets fine...?? Remember handling has to come first...

If they are not right, then would you be kind enough to have a look in the link above, and say which ones will be best...??

Thanks

Nick

I would also like to know if anyone runs 18" rears and 17" fronts and what the pros and cons of doing so are.

If you're using your car for a lot of track time, You should go with 17's all around and with 225 front and 255 rear. You can also go to a wider tire on the front but you will need to camber it more or go with a higher offset. There was somebody here running 17 in the front and 18 in the rear but I don't see the need for doing such a thing. I personally use 18 inch all the way around because of the shorter sidewall making it a little stiffer. goodluck
