Default Would like to put runflats on...need advice

I'd like to put a set of run flats on all around for piece of mind because i don't carry a spare, plus replacing a rear tire WITH a spare is a pain. Are there any direct replacements on the stock rims or would I need to replace them with 17s?

I don't autox or drive crazy so I'm aware they will be less grippy vs the 02s.

Thanks guys.

There are no run flat tires available for the car. Most of the people with run flat tires on the cars don't like them. They are harsher riding and about 100.00 more per tire.
What you may want to consider is a low pressure warning system and a cell phone. With the low pressure warning system you normally can get a tire fixed before you have a blow out.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Jim, thanx for your response!

If I changed to aftermarket rims and moved up in size would there be an issue? What size rim could I go to that would be compatible?

I do carry a cell and am cautious. I don't mind the harsher ride and would add that pressure system to it as well.

Let me know your input on the new rims. Thanks again

Run flat tires just don't match the handling offered by regular high performance tires. Z06's don't come with them and the quick handling improvement on other vettes is to ditch the run flats for other tires. Consider this change carefully.

Also, I believe runflats are significantly heavier that similarly-sized non-runflats. (do correct me if I'm mistaken)

If I were to ditch the spare, I'd follow Jim and Chris' recommendations. The pressure monitoring system alone will eliminate the majority of inconvenience associated with flats since you'll catch them early on. I'm not sure how much more security would be realized by run-flats.

If your sub is big enough, can't you just use it in a pinch ?
