Work Meister S1 3-pc wheels
#21
Well... I went to the tire shop last week to have the tires mounted. SUPER excited. Well turns out the valve stems there at the tire shop WONT FIT. The holes for the valve stems on these wheels are much smaller than what is standard. I had to order special valve stems directly from Work for the wheels. They should arrive by the end of the week. I should have the wheels on in about a week or so.
Taking longer that expected =\

Well... Finally got them on! One of the wheels wasn't sealed correctly when it was reassembled after being refinished. Because of this it wasn't holding air when I got the tire mounted. I used a gasket making sealant to seal the inside of the wheel, but this was apparently the wrong substance. It never cured completely (too thick) and leaked air once the tire was remounted.
SO... I had the tire dismounted and I tried sealing the wheel again. This time I used RTV silicon adhesive and this did the trick. The wheel seems to be holding air fine now.
I just went for my initial drive on the new set and the tires arent particularly grippy yet. It's 50 degrees here this morning and the tires still have the mold release compound on them, which is to be expected.
As for the fitment, in back it's perfect. It's about as aggressive as I could go without a fender roll, which is just what I wanted. In the front it is "whoa" aggressive (225 tire on +43 offset). I don't know how well it's going to play with my front fenders over time, so I'll just have to play it by ear right now.
The wheels look really amazing on car. I painted the hubs black all around, which was a big improvement over the rust color they were before. I'll post some pictures after I can get car washed later today.

I'll wash the car up and take some pics tomorrow (promise). Turns out the one wheel STILL isn't holding air - even after I applied a healthy bead of RTV silicon on the inside seam. At this point I'm half pissed off and half depressed. I'm tired of messing with these wheels... I just want them on my car and working at this point. I'm going to send the one wheel back to Work to be rebuilt. I'm sick of messing with it myself.
