Cons of an 18:
-extra cost
-increased weight (of the tire if not the wheel)
-deterioration in ride quality
-higher likelihood of bending a rim on a pothole
Pro of an 18:
-Looks way sicker

I loved the look of my Work wheels and got a lot of compliments. Work Emotion CR-Kai - Gun Metal Gray - 17x8 +47 Front (Flat Face) / 17x9 +44 Rear (Concave Face). Continental Conti Sport3 Tires 225-45-17F and 255-40-17R, the car is stock height/brakes/suspension. I had no issues with cornering, but a rear fender roll was necessary for high speed (70+mph) driving on SoCal freeways (big dips in the road = minor rubbing).

wider stance so maybe better?
I actually just ordered 17x9+44 & 17x8 +47 the 18's simply wont fit the car right and I would be sacrificing the great hendling that the car came with.
I am also going with Espelirs and Koni Yellows, should I be ok with rubbing with some Fender rolling in the back?

IMO 17x8 +47 (rear) will not need to roll rear fenders with stock suspension; I also agree with above post that you probably will not notice any difference in handling.
17x9 +44 (rear) will need fender roll/trim with stock suspension; my rubbing really wasn't bad at all. I drove around for a couple months before SPUNKYSANDOVAL (SoCal) rolled my S2K's fenders. If you have Espelirs and Koni Yellows (and suspension is stiffer) you may not need to roll fenders (I really don't know).
