I think it looks rather nice.
However, I will second the comment about keeping them clean, having had a Harley Softail with laced wheels (what Harley calls them). They are a major pain to keep clean.

I say - dare to be different!
As other have mentioned - the likelyhood of even custom made true wire spoked wheels is quite slim. And those old school wire wheels were REALLY heavy - as was mentioned earlier.
