Winter Tires on Steel Wheel
When I go to TireRack.com to shop for winter tire packages for my '02 S2000, the packages only have alloy wheels.
Has anyone ever tried using steel wheels for an Accord (same bolt pattern). The wheel size is 16x6.5 instead of 16x7 and all 4 tires would be 215/55/16.
I'm going to call Jim at Tire Rack to ask his opinion, but wanted to know what all of you thought.

If the wheels are not hub centric you could by hub centric rings, I do not understand them not having enough load capacity for a s2k when they put them on accords which weigh a couple hundred pounds more. Can someone clarify. Thank you

the front wheels DO fit fine - the centre bore is the same as the prelude. However, the rears do require a hub centric ring. The rims are 16x6.5 - offset is 50-55, not positive, but they do clear the brakes.

Yes they will fit. Again, you won't get the same stagger as the stock wheels, but for non-aggressive, winter driving, they will work fine. They have worked fine for me for 2 winters.
There's another discussion going on in wheel and tire as to whether or not you'd need a hubcentric ring for the rear wheels.

Centering ring are made specific for the car and the wheel. There is no rings made for a steel wheel. The steel wheels that are sold are made specific for whatever car they are on. The load capacity of the car is all the load capacity is for the wheel. I would not recommend it but if you can live with a vibration and they do clear the brakes it is your call. You would have to stay with the 205/55R16 on all four corners.
If I can help with the tires let me know.
Thank you,
