Will Acceleration Decrease with these Wheels?
Compared to the AP1 wheels + OE tires, will the following actually have less unsprung weight and improve acceleration?
OZ Ultras + Pilots
Front: 18x8 + 225/40 = (18.4 lbs + 21 lbs) = 39.4 lbs
Rear: 18x9 + 245/35 = (19.6 lbs + 22 lbs ) = 41.6 lbs
AP1 Stock + OE Tires
Front: 17.5 lbs + 24 lbs = 41.5 lbs
Rear: 18.6 lbs + 26 lbs = 44.6 lbs
I want these wheels in black and they would look great on SPA yellow. Also if I lower the car with 48mm and 55mm, will they rub?

The tires themselves are 3-4lbs lighter alone so that should offset any negatives by running the bigger wheels. I would run them, enjoy them, and you should see an increase in performance. Any time you get rid of weight its a bonus, anytime its unsprung weight its a double bonus.
Have fun!!!!

I have these wheels with BF Goodrich KDW-2's (225 front, 255 rear). It might be a mental thing but I think my car is a tad bit slower with the wheels and tires.
They don't rub at stock height but they look like they may rub a little (b/c I have 255) when I drop my car. If you get 245's, you should be fine.
