will 245/40/18 fit my car?
Hey guys, I had a questions that I thought some of you tire gurus may be able to answer. I have 18x7.5 +50 and 18x8.5 +52 Volks currently on 225/40/18 and 245/35/18 Falken fk451 that the rims came with when I bought them. It's time to replace the tires but I was wondering if I can run a 245/40/18 on the rears instead of 35? I'm lowered quite low on espelir springs so I don't know If I'll rub. The reason is because there are just soo many more tire choices and better prices for 245/40 than 245/35, I guess 245/35 just isn't that common. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I would roll with a 255-35-18 and roll the rear fenders. 245-40-18 will not look as good being less of a low profile tire, and it will throw things off a bit (ABS, Speedometer, odometer). It might even cause you to rub because the tire will most likely be both wider and taller. I think, with those offsets, you will be fine with 255-35-18 on the rear though.
