Will 245/35/18's mount on a 18x7.5" wheel?
im sure this may have been asked b4, but the 5zigen 5zr's are the only rims that i found particularly appealing 4 my car. only thing is, 5zigen only sells an 18x7.5, no 18x8.5. in regards 2 the rear tires, would a 245/35/18 mount on an 18x7.5" rim? i'm not 2 sure how accurate this tire size calculator is, but according 2 this calculator, the tire width on a 245/35/18 is 9.65" which is obviously much wider than 7.5," hence i question if it will mount or if the tire would be 2 wide. but it also says the tire width on our stock 225/50/16 is 8.86," which obviously mounts on a 16x7.5" rim. so i question the accuracy of this calculator. i know most everyone else has mounted a 265 or 245 on an 18x8.5" rim, but unfortunately i haven't found anything that's appealed 2 me with that size. another option is a 225/35/18, which im sure would mount. and according 2 the calculator, it's the same exact width as stock, but .46" less in diameter. so basically better gearing with the same width. i can also go with a 235/35/18, a lil wider, but should be easier 2 mount. any answers? comments? thanx..

I don't have an answer... but I am curious about whether it will fit as well. Looking to stagger my wheels using "tire only" also.
To be somewhat helpful I'll add this... the tire calculator is measuring the contact patch width. Where it connects with the road. The 7.5" of the rim is essentially the tire's bead width. Which if you'll look is always considerably smaller than the actual contact patch.

Have you guys seen this stickied thread:
NOTICE: Correct Rear Tire Size
This is for the stock size rims that are 16x7.5". The taller side wall of the 16" rim gives you a little more wiggle room but you shouldn't have a problem with a 245 width tire on the 18's.
