If anyone is aware of the widest available 16'' wheels, front and rear (stock 6.5'' & 7.5''), for the S2K please let me know. That's what I need for the track only.

I believe the issue you'll find is tire width. Not too many tires bigger than 245 in 16. Firehawks come in a 255. For track use, isn't 265 the widest? I'm sure you could find a rim that would fit a 265. Love to see what you find out, though.

Jim,

Yes well,I'm indeed looking for the widest available wheels since any given tire shall perform to it's best, on the track, when mounted on the widest rims in the manufacturers "suggested rim widths" for that given tire.

The 265 you mention would perform much better, everything else being equal, on a 9" wheel than on a 7.5". In fact, because of the pinching effect, it is entirely possible that a 245 mounted on a 7.5" rim has the same, or even better, contact patch than a 265 mounted on the same wheel.

Therefore my quest.

The spoons and Regamaster EVOs give you 1/2 inch more all around.

......price is very much an object especially since I am considering dumping the car when the warranty period expires because I have had just too much trouble with it up to now(i.e. I won't invest a whole lot into it)...

Pierre who still loves this friggen car
