Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Our prices are all based on how we buy the tires. Brecause we go tturn the enventory quicker when the mfg's raise the prices we adjust the prices quicker. They were probably working off older stock. Nobody in the business buys tires better than we do. I think if you look at shipping versus sales tax you will find we are competitive. We also have a much larger selection of tires versus going locally. The local guys also have not driven the tires they sell and can't tell you which tire is the best for the application.
I hope this helps some. I know we won't always be cheaper but we will be close.
Thanks Jim,

I don't need any tire guy to tell me what to put on my S The good people here and on other S2k fora are in a great position to help in that regard. While your selection is indeed vast, in my case there was really only 1 tire I wanted - the RE01Rs. No offense, but I prefer the advice of a friend who drives an S regularly above all else. Heck I had a dealer try and tell me the RE01Rs were too hard core for an S - loud, bad road manners, etc. And I knew that wasn't true just from talking with fellow owners who drive those tires.

I understand and appreciate your position. I did, in fact order my new rears from Tire Rack because no one locally could get them, or get a date certain when they would come off of backorder.

However, I imagine the Company O/O stores like the one I use locally, probably get a pretty decent price, as well.

Appreciate your response!

Dave

I just dropped $909 on a set of 245/255 RE01R But I do get a $100 rebate for being an SCCA member

My stock sized sets are a little less than that, thankfully.

Eh? I've bought several sets of tires from the Rack for various cars and even with shipping taken into consideration, I've done far better than I could locally....though this likely depends on which tires you're buying. In addition, they stock tires that are not available locally. I plan to replace my stock S02s via the Rack when the time comes (rears are almost done...)
