Default Wheels - My tough decision

I really want to buy some new wheels for my car. I want 18's. I don't want 17's. Now that that's over with , I'm not sure what kind to get really. I've read all the offsets and such so I'm pretty up to date on that. I guess I'm just trying to find a style that suits me and with this car, that's very difficult. I already know what tire I'm getting too. It's just these blasted rims!. I also don't want super cheapo rims either. I'd like to stay under the $2000 for tires/wheels combo but prefer more around the $1500 if possible. I really like the WORK CR-KAI and Emotion 11R wheels but the buff silver (looks chrome) are like what, $500 a piece? I have New Formula Red AP2. How do you guys decide on rims? lol I'm not looking to DUMP my ride. I will lower it eventually (minimal) and was going to do that first but I decided I wanted wheels first as I will need tires soon anyways.

You need suspension of some sort first. It will look soooooo WHACK with it looking like a monster truck.
You will need to look into the used wheel market for $1500 wheel budget with tires.
My tires, 255-35-18 ran me almost $1200, sure there are cheaper, but not by much.
Look into the Enkei line of wheels, specifically the nt03+/rpf1 models for average priced wheel.

My take OP. 18's vs 17" are heavier, more expensive for wheels and tires and most importantly really don't make any reasonable sense to up size unless your planning on meeting or exceeding 10" wide/265's due to the larger height profile of 17's for similar or larger widths. 17's look good on this small car.

Unless you find a great deal on something used or go for some garbage with poor fitting offsets, I think your budget isn't going to allow you to go down the road you want with 18's. Hopefully the previous reasons I stated give you more to think about and resonate with you a bit.

Enkei PF01 looks a lot like the work CR Kai and come in S2k-friendly offsets:

PF01-SS version has more of a lip, but only available in 17":

I got the non-SS version for my FD in 17x8.5 +40, 18x9.5 +45. Love 'em...

I think you guys are right with the 17s and lowering. The more I struggle with this the more that makes sense. And those enkei's do look nice. Thanks for posting the pictures. I guess 17's and dropping would make more sense than 18's and the cost reduction would be beneficial as well. Thanks for the heads up guys. That's one reason I like these forums.

I have to disagree....I think 18's and a nice drop are perfect. OP - I picked up my LM's used (within your alloted budget), although I did have them polished/powdercoated after so that added another $500

So every freaking wheel I look at has crappy offsets that won't fit this dang car without rolling fenders lol. I do not want to roll my fenders. I want a nice set of wheels that I can slap on there and just call it a day. This car though seems to be difficult to work with. I LOVE the WORK Emotion 11R's but I was told both semi-concave and especially deep concave would require rolling the fenders and the offsets are too low. Keep in mind I've made up my mind to go with 17's.

Am I just missing something or am I not gonna be able to use Emotion 11R on my car without extra work? I like Volk wheels too much $700 a wheel or so is too much for my blood. I've been researching this like crazy, even before my OP and I just can't find a wheel. I might be stuck with going with Enkei's PF01SS (becauase I like some lip) just because they have friendly S2K offsets. Am I stuck with this? I've heard bad things about Konig and Enkei quality. Can I have some help from more knowledgeable people? I really want them Emotions. I see a lot of s2k pics with them on but Idk what all kind of extra work went into them.

UGH
