Default wheel weights fell off

I just got some new Prodrive rims, and everything mounted an balanced a few days ago. Well I noticed the rather LARGE strip of sticky weights sitting on my driveway. I know which wheel they came off of, but I couldn't tell where on the wheel they used to be, no sticky residue or anything.

However, I've driven the car up to 120km/h and I feel absolutely no vibrations whatsoever. The tech who did it said he had a lot of trouble balancing that one rim in particular, and had to use ALOT of weights to get it close. But without the weights, they "feel" fine.

Should I take it back and get re-balanced? Or am I ok?

have them check if the wheel is straight. with my experience, wheels that are hard to balance and take alot of weight usually are bent. i do suggest getting them rebalanced eventhought they feel okay...

also, the weights probably fell off because they didnt clean the wheel properly. secondly, what kind of tires do you have? sometimes a tire can be out of round or have a defect that might make it difficult to balance.

I agree with the rebalance. You can also have them spin the tire 180 degree's and rebalance. That can reduce the weights that are needed a lot of times.

Weights fell off?? Did you take them a dirty wheel or did you use too much Zaino on your wheels? Zaino Z2 clearcoat poish is just slicker than snot on a doorknob and tape weights have a hard time sticking to it.

thanks for the advise - wheels were brand new out of the box (Prodrive PFF7) and the tires are 235/40/18 Falken RT615's.

That's good. Never heard someone say that. I always say "slicker than snot on an onion skin".
