Default Wheel roughed up

Was parallel parking yesterday and brushed a low curb at slow speed. Heard a metallic sound and stopped. The front pass wheel had about 6 inches of scratches on the outside rim of the wheel adjacent to the tire. There was no visible damage to the tire and the car drove ok afterwards. I didn't see any dent in the rim, just the scratches.

The scatches are not that visible. My question is whether I can somehow smooth these out or am I better off just leaving it alone. This is a stock 05 wheel.

There are companies that do a good job with surface scratches. One company is Wheel Collision at 800-292-7467.

Thanks for the info. I take it this isn't a DIY job(by amateurs)?
