I dunno about any 17" wheels but there are a few choices of 16" wheels, Spoon's wheels in +35 or forged work emotions in +35 and possibly 16" RPF1s in a +35 up front

What's a good place to get spacers from? Is there a brand/model that's recommended?

I'm thinking if I wasn't sure if it would fit and wanted to get a 5mm and 10mm to test with.

Dimensions, dimensions, dimensions!!! That and spoke design in conjuction with offset will determin what wheels will fit and which will not. Since nothing got noticed here, I had to call up Spoon and ask specific questions to form up some numbers to see if my wheels will fit. For those of you who have the Spoon calipers, if you take some measurements with a precision measuring caliper or depth-mic, you could give the exact distance from the front face of the rotor to the outer corner of the caliper. How much clearance do you need?
I called Spoon 8 months ago, so I don't remember the exact numbers, but I do recall that 18X8 SSR GT3s with 45mm OS will NOT fit. (Spoke design)

Any possible way of getting spoonies to fit BBS LMs or Volk GTUs...or how about newer wheels like the RE030...It just seems like people who have Spoon monoblocks are REALLY limited to wheel selection.

This should answer your question about fitting the BBS LMs with the Spoon calipers.

^^ best wheel/brake combo on the site!

Anyone have the exact dimensions of the spoon caliper? I've been searching for the schematic but no luck.

Wheels are Gram Light 57 Maximum 17x8 +43

I had to call Opak Racing (Spoon's US devision) to get answers. It's been almost a year since I looked into it, so I could be totally wrong, but I believe you need about 2 inches from the face of the rotor in order for the far outside corner of the caliper to clear the wheel. I've also noticed that a lot of people use these with less-than-desireable clearance (e.g. just enough to fit a credit card between) That is a bit unsafe as something might get drawn in and lock your wheel. 3 mm clearance is I think the minimum that you'd want.

My brother had a rock get caught between his caliper and rim on his old sti. It ****ed up the caliper and wheel. They noth had some deep gouges in them

Sorry to revive an old thread. I know that 18 x 8 +28 will clear Spoon Calipers, but will they clear Stoptech or Brembo?

Also, what offset in an 18 x 9 would clear Stoptech's or Brembo's?
