Default Wheel fitment confirmation

I just read through the wheel fitment sticky and I thought I would confirm a set of wheels I just picked up for cheap.

Wheel Specs: rays gram lights 57c
17x7.5 +40 offset. (Wish they were 8.5 though)
800 bucks shipped from Cali
Car specs: MY00
Lowered about 1.5 inches on tein S techs.
Front adjustable upper ball joints.
Still running OEM ap1 wheels.

I read that anything lower than +43 offset shouldn't be run on the front because of rubbing. I was considering running a 1/2 inch spacer all the way around to compensate while staying square setup.

Tire size: would 235/4017s be recommended? Not looking for a "stance" set up. More of an autox/daily driver functional setup.

Any tips besides "get different wheels!" Would be appreciated.

Yeah 7.5 inch wide for the rear sucks. That's an inch narrower than OEM AP2 wheels. Also a .5 inch spacer to compensate for what? All thats going to do is make you hella fail in front and useless in the rear of the car. Remind me why you bought these before asking if it was a good setup?

What I would do is forget the spacer as it is not needed in any way. Sell 2 of the wheels and find 2 that are at least 8.5 inches wide for the rear of the car. If you stay in the +40's for offset it will look decent. These wheels are for a civic or an RSX not an S2000.

The spacer was to ensure the fronts don't rub the chassis.

Disregard my "rub the chassis" comment. I had my offsets backwards for a sec

Or 225/45 front and 235/40 rear.
