So what's the deal with SSR?

I've noticed that Tire Rack has less and less sizes and models available...

Are they still in business? Can the proper sizes and offsets still be ordered?

Anyone have an answer?

From what I've read on other forums, they filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. That's probably why Tire Rack is having less rims from them.

Damn, that means I have to order my GT7's soon...

they filed for bankruptcy but they did it to re-organize the company, most likely they cut production by half and fired quiet a bit of people.

People said that Tire Rack bought the SSR brand. Not sure on that, just rumors

SSR did file for bankruptcy, but has been officially bought out by Tanabe. Spoke to one of their represenatives not too long ago, and they said that they will still produce the previous available SSR wheel designs, and hopefully a few more new ones too. He also informed me that he is not sure of when they will start producing rims in mass quantities again, but hopefully by the end of summer, if not by then, should be by the end of the year. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I want my SSR Varden Sport Velbrets or the Professor SP1's...
