Well, 1 in.=25.4mm. Convert the stock wheel diameter into mm. Add to this the sidewall height of the stock tire size which you will get by multiplying the width of the tire by series as a percentage (i.e.225/50 would be 225*.50). This will give the you total diameter of the wheel/tire combination. Then do the same thing with the new wheels and possible tires. You'll want to have as close as possible front and rear total diameter, and you won't want them to differ significantly from the stock sizes or your speedometer will be off.

I think that the second tire selection would be better. You'd keep the 30mm stagger between the front an the rear, and there is basically no difference in the diameter front versus rear. As a disclaimer, though, I am not running these widths on those offsets, so I can't say 100% that it won't ever rub. I think a lot would depend on how much you are going to be lowering it on your coilovers. I'm sure someone with more firsthand experience can chime in.

215/45/17 front and 255/40/17 would be closest to stock ratio on the RT615 if you are looking at contact patch which is much more important than the 30 or 40mm stagger suggested using tire specs. I am running 215/255 falken RT615 and love them. 255 is awefully wide for a 8" rim in the back. You would prob. want to use a 245/45/17 on your 8" rims.
Also, you have fairly aggressive offsets. You may experience rubbing with a 225 in the front and a 255 in the rear.
With your rim widths and offsets, I would recommend 215/45/17 and 245/40/17.

Obviously either set up for tires isn't cheap, I'm just trying to prevent a very costly mistake.

Clearly he has more knowledge about tires measurements than I do, and was the only person to post in this thread a way for me to actually figure it out.
I'm not overloaded with info, I just have too many scenario's to choose from and am trying to not pay for tires twice.
I appreciate your help and prompt response to my thread; but you never know who's behind a username and what background they come from.
