Angry What series tire would I need...?

I've ordered the rims already just need help with the exact tire size per corner.

Here's what my diagram shows, which I don't understand either.

Wow...........I have no idea what that mess is above.........looks like you've got information overload...........Looks like the info above is mostly concerning widths and offsets........

I couldnt tell what size rims you ordered but if you run 45 series up front then you run 40 in the rear, or 40 up front and 35 in the rear.

Thats just a general rule. I have 40 series all around on my S2k.

Yeah, complete info overload.

To clarify, I bought 17x7.5 f & 17x8 r.

I would like to buy Falken RT615's but only come in a 255 rear.

So I wanted to know if I went with a 225/45/17 F & 255/40/17 R if they would fit, no problem....?

If they wouldn't, they I'll just go with Hankook RS2's in the correct size: 215/45/17 & 245/40/17.

I think your definatly overloaded............the "255" number has nothing to do with the sidewall hieght.........That number is the width of the tread.

The series number 45, 40, 35..........is the height of the sidewall........

Either way, both those tires should be ok........most peaple would go with the one with more tread. 225/255

Alot depends on what your offsets are on those rims?

That's what my question is.

What series height should I run on those rims.

Those rim dimensions were mentioned in the original post.

Again:
17x7.5 +45 (F)
17x8 +48

Thank you, that's what I'm looking for.

Anyone else think the same setup?

That is incorrect. The number 255 does represent the approximate width of the tire in mm, but it has everything to do with the sidewall height. The series number (also known as the aspect ratio) is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width. So a 255/40-17 would have a side wall height of 102mm (so you'd see about 50mm from the edge of the wheel to the top of the time, since half of the 102mm would be on the bottom of the wheel and half would be on top).

You want to keep the overall diameter of the tire and wheel as close to stock as possible. So stock (AP1) is front is 406.4mm (16 in.) + 112.75 (205*.55) = 519.15mm and the stock rear would be 406.4mm (16in.) + 112.5 (225*.5) = 518.9mm. So do the math and get the size which most closely matches the stock size.

Interesting math.

I have an AP2.

Where would I find your calculation for that?

I was trying to keep it simple for this guy since he already has WAYYYYY to much info...........didnt you read the rest of the thread? I'm sure you really simplified it for him giving him that info.
