What race compound tires for 17" Volk CE28n's

You can contact Speedstar.ca (they're a board sponsor, I believe) and they can get JDM spec R-compounds for you.
I have been in an S2000 with Bridgestone RE-55's on the racetrack, and let me tell you they stick like CRAZY.
It was unbelievable the speed you could carry through corners.
And they can get them in the correct 17" size.
I was quoted a price about $200 more for a set of 4 than a comparable Toyo RA-1 setup. Well worth it IMO.

Jeez, this thread was started like two years ago! Wonder how Dave liked those V700s after all.
I'm having difficulty deciding which way to go.....I've got my stock 16s and I was thinking about spooning on RA1s, but my 17" ASAs are in need of some fresh rubber and I'm wondering if I should just run RA1s on the street.
Pete--how much were the Advans?

Advan A-048
225/45R17 : $255.00/tire
255/40R17 : $305.00/tire
Definitely not cheap....these prices don't include international freight. (Probably around $50-$75 if you use Ocean Cargo)
