What does anodizing a lip do?
I brought my 18in GT-U to NTB to have a tire replaced, and they scratched the hell outta my rim's lip. They said they will pay for the repair, but the repair shop says they can only fix the lip by high polishing... but they cannot anodize it
does anodizing the lip protect the metal from rusting or something? What could go wrong if my lip isnt anodized?
Thanks
Mike

Anodizing is when aluminum is dipped into an anodizing solution, which converts aluminum to its oxide - forming a harder outer shell. Tell them you'd need to have the wheel taken apart and re-anodized, or see if they can fork out the $$ to have all the rims polished and clear coated.
