What do I replace my RE050A rears with?

Yeah, I'm a little confused on tire size. I read through a bunch of threads about opinions on correct size for replacments, seemed that they were speaking mostly about the AP1. Can I trust TireRack's recommended tire size?
215/45-17, 245/40-17
215/45-17, 255/40-17
225/45-17, 255/40-17
You could also run 225/45-17 with 245/40-17 rears, but the fronts will be larger in diameter than the rears and will also "pooch" more, giving a noticeable "big fronts/little rears" look.

Slow day today. Based on this: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=148 I'm thinking the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is the way for me to go.

i have not been able to kick the rear out under spirited daily driving yet. the tire feels as if it just glues to the road the harder i push it. pretty awesome. it also rides smoother and more quiet compared to my previous set-up (which i could easily get the rear to kick out with). people will try and get you to not purchase them because of price...but they are like $150-$200 more for all 4 tires. i'm not going to cheap out on my car. not fair to it.

Just to confirm, Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/45/17 front, 255/40/17 rear should be OK for AP2 stock 17" wheels? No rubbing?
I like these tires (they seem a better balanced and less expensive choice vs. RE-11s for aggressive daily driving and wet weather) and would like a little more contact patch in the rear for grip, and a little more in the front to keep understeer in check.

They don't come in 255/40-17. 215/45-17 fronts and 245/40-17 rears will be fine. Could go 225/245, but looks kinda dumb IMO (big fronts/little rears).
The additional grip from slightly wider 225/255 tires is going to be negligible to nonexistent for most usage anyway, and they would theoretically hydroplane sooner. With 215/245, and you'll save a pound or two of unsprung rotational mass at every corner, and have an ever-so-slightly lower c.g. and ever-so-slightly better gearing

For some time now I’ve heard strong praise for the V12 evos and I’m not sure why after I recently had an opportunity to grab one off the shelf in person. The sidewalls on these tires are only a single ply and flimsy as fock, I couldn’t believe how soft they were, why anyone would consider putting these on a precision handling car like the S is beyond me! I most definitely would not put these in the rear coupled with some of the stiffest sidewall tires up front like the Bridgstones. The only thing I can think of as to why the v12 comes up so often as a choice is because of price and people don’t know any better. I wouldn’t touch that tire with a 10 foot pole. Basic rule of thumb guys, on the S2000 or any sport car for that matter, basic requirements for a tire is a twin ply sidewall.
