I just swapped out a set of OEM RE050's on my 08 base S2K for a set of the Dunlop Star Specs about a month ago. The Star Specs are a better tire in every way. Not sure what your problem is but unless there is a manufacturing defect in your Dunlops they should be better not worse than your old RE050's.

He had RE070's, stock for the CR. Those were MUCH better than RE050's.

That sounds like a bad tire if you've ruled out the usual suspects--pressure, alignment, balance...

Getting the fronts swapped will be good, but I don't think that will fix the problem you described.

The biggest problem is the wobbling

i know what you are talking about, it happened to me before, and i know alot of people who experienced this when they replaced only the rear with new tires while keeping the fronts from the old set.

i have good news for you. this is temporary!! a new tire needs a break in period. when you change the 4 tires together you wouldnt feel as much wobble bcz all four have the same grip level and tread depth.

however, when you only change the rears the wobbling happenes for two reasons:

1- the fronts are more responsive due to the lower tread depth.

2- the rears have temporary less grip bcz they are in the break in period and have a protective layer that keeps the tire in good condition while being in storage before use.

basically the problem would be much reduced after running around 300 miles on the new tires, and after around 400 miles you'll be all great so just wait before deciding on paying $$$$ on new fronts.

What if, to break in the tire, just do burnouts?
