Default Want a different tire size than recommended

Hey Jim,

I bought a set of Mille Miglia HT3's with S03's last year from you and I need rears already. They're 225/45/17's. I would like to go a little taller and a little wider so the tire doesn't look like it's stretched onto the rim. The fronts look great, I just want to try and match them a little better. The car is stock heighth and probably will be for some time. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Phil.

225/45/17's on the rear would not be the recommended size. Too narrow and too short.

You should run at least 245s - I'm not sure about the offset of the HT3s - but you might be able to run 255/40 if you stay at the stock ride height.

Hey lig,

The size was recommended in the package from Tire Rack, but I agree, they're too short and too narrow. So you think 245/45 would get me there?

It would def. be a step up. I'm pretty sure Jim would not recommend the 225 rear setup - was it someone else who set up the package?

What are the offsets on your HT3s?

I'm running 255/40/17 on my 17x9 ASA +62 offset. Lowered 1.2" or so with no rubbing issues.

If you intend on staying at the stock ride height - you could probably run 255/40s and not have any issues at all.

Good Luck to you...

I'm not sure who it was, but that point's moot now.

And I'm not sure of the offsets either.

I just want to get some tires that fit better. And Jim hasn't responded to my inquiries. Oh well. Time to go local.

Thanks lig, I really appreciate the input.
