To Jim@Tirerack and others.

Call me stupid, but I've yet to understand the difference in general between W an Z speed rated tires, and their effect on performance, etc. on the s2k (assuming proper sizing and all).
Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks,
Richard

Z rated - Capable of speed of at least 149 mph, but how far above is not identified.
W rated - Top speed of 168 mph.

TireRack's site has a good write-up on speed ratings (the tire only has to handle the rated speed for 10 minutes):

Beginning in 1991, the speed symbol denoting a fixed maximum speed capability of new tires must be shown only in the speed rating portion of the tire

Great information:

As the s2k's top speed (stock) is about 150, has anybody ever used Z speed rated tires on it? If so, with what result?

Thanks,
Richard
