Default VOLK CE28 Size/Fitment Opinions

Hi all,

Just wanted to get some feedback, opinions, experiences on some Volk CE28 fitment.

I'm going to go to a 17inch wheel from my factory Ap1 wheels. I spoke with Evasive motorsports and they recommended a 17x7.5 +48 and a 17x9 +63 in the rear.

I'd prefer not to roll the fenders. Has anyone run this setup and had issues with clearance? Any other opinions or ideas about this setup are definitely welcomed!

Also a bonus if anyone has run this setup with Spoon calipers and can share any experiences with that...

Thanks!

I tried finding a set of CE28N but haven't found them in S2k friendly offsets anywhere. As far as fitment, these are the stock AP1 and AP2 wheels:
stock AP1 are:
16 x 6.5 +55 front 17.5 lb
16 x 7.5 +65 rear 18.6 lb

stock AP2 are
17 x 7 +55 front 17.6 lbs
17 x 8.5 +65 rear 20.5 lbs

As far as I've seen here on s2ki, 17x9 +60 rear and 17x8 +50 front clear everything on stock suspension so that's what I ended up ordering for Enkei PF01's but definitely would have gone for slightly higher offsets if they could be found in stock anywhere.

That being said, if you can find CE28N's like you were saying (17 x 7.5 front 50-55 positive offset, and 17x9 rear 60-65 positive offset) i would jump on those in a heartbeat. They weigh less than these PF01's I settled with and both wheels should clear Spoon calipers on the front. I plan on picking up a set of those ASAP.

There's a thread on here somewhere with Spoon caliper fitment for wheels - it's old so there are possibly more wheels that will clear without spacers but I believe the CE28N's with S2k- offsets are on there.

Thanks for the response!

The person I talked to at Evasive said that those sizes aren't "readily" available, but that they could order them. It would take 3 months or so as they would be coming from Japan. I'm not in a huge hurry as there are other projects that can keep my attention on the car... so I may end up going with those sizes.

If you are getting volks you should look into rolling your fenders anything under 17x9 is just small roll with the big boiz
They also look amazing parried with big tires. I'm a fan of 255/40/17 on the S2000 fits the body lines great.

I have a 17x9 63 all around but needs rolling
Trackboiz do 17x9.5 or 10 with as high as offset you can get
Anything under +50 offset you will need to roll your fenders and pull with bumper tab relocation depending on how low you are.
This is why higher offset are just easier to work with. It's also good if you do plan to go BBK you have the space.

These are 17x9 +63 all around 255/40/17 RS4's I am not even low at all. Tons of fender gap. I live in a area with really bad roads. I can't really go much lower without ripping off my lip. This is rolled rear fenders and stock fenders up front. a + 63 will still rub a bit in the fender lining. Once it's melts off your good to go.

I don't think 17x9 + 63 should require rolling if you have enough camber. I'm at -3.2 degrees up front and -2.6 degrees rear on 17x9 + 62's with 255 square. That is with an aftermarket ball joint up front to bring the top of the wheels in-board and factory adjustment at the rear. I have not had any rubbing whatsoever in the rear and I've had some pretty hard compressions. In the front, I have touched the fender liners and the inside of my wheel will rub on the a-arm at full lock. I wouldn't want to do that to a set of fancy Volks but I'm just on some TR wheels.

Newer owner also interested in these wheels and their fitment without rolling fenders. 17x9 +63 front and rear with a staggered or square tire setup? I'm on coilovers so I can play with height/stiffness if that matters.

17x9 on +63 with over -3.2 degrees in the front should be ok on stock fenders with most 255's. That is assuming your front camber is gained from by moving the upper a-arm inwards either using ball joints or offset bushings. You will rub the front liners a bit and your wheels can rub on the inner a-arms at full lock. I don't think you'll touch fenders though. I have -2.6 degrees camber in the rear with 255s and haven't touched my fenders. Unless you're racing, you could and probably should just run 245's for a little more clearance. You should be fine.

Don't mean to hijack but it pertains to this wheel, so figured I'd post here rather than start my own thread. That said, I've been trying to do a good bit of reading on the wheel offsets/will it fit threads and believe I have a solution for what I'm looking to do. I don't plan on racing, don't want to roll my fenders and prefer the look of the staggered setup.

Front 17x7.5+48 will stick out 1/2" further than stock setup
Rear 17x9+63 will stick out 1/3" further than stock setup

Front tires 215/45 or 225/45
Rear tires 245/40 or 255/40

My initial thought was to stick with the stock tire sizes to play it safe with regard to rubbing, with the front setup being of primary concern. Am I being too cautious? Does the tire width matter as much since I don't plan on tracking the car? Am I just wasting a wider wheel setup by sticking with the narrower tires? TIA.
