outside edges looked flawless. But who knows. Perhaps the rough highways between san diego and LV caused the issue.
My main concern was whether or not this is a common problem with the Bridgestone Potenza stock tires. But apparently not.

Tires normally blow out for two reasons. One you hit something in the road and the tire looses air pressure right away. The second is you loose air pressure from something in the tires and the heat builds up and then the sidewall blows out. My guess would be the second scenario. With the low profile tires it is hard to tell when the tires are low on air.
There have not been any issues with the Bridgestone tires. If I can help with the tires let me know.
