trying to match current stance with AP2 V3s...
am trying to get a setup that will be as close a possible to my current stance... and since my knowledge of offsets is lacking... please chime in.
current setup:
LMs 18x8 +50 18x9.5 +55 225/40/ & 265/35
new setup:
AP2 V3s... please recommend tire size and spacers needed. fenders have been rolled and am dropped only 1 inch all around on PSS9s...
thanks...

18mm-20mm in the front with a 215/45 and a 25mm spacer for the rear with 255/40's. That will equal to ur other set up.
OP,
Assuming you run 225/45-17 front, 255/40-17 rear? or 215/45-17 fronts?
Anyway, OEM offsets are 55mm front, 65mm rear.
So up front, to get the outside edge of a 225 width tire at the same location, you'd want (55mm - 50mm) = 5mm spacers. But then you'd need longer wheelstuds. I wouldn't bother with it, your fronts will only be 5mm "tucked in" relative to your previous setup.
If you went with 215/45 fronts, you'd want another 5mm, or 10mm total spacer.
In back, if you're going to a 255 tire, to get the outside edge at the same location you'd want (65mm - 55mm) + (265-255)/2 = 15mm spacers.

Stock sizes:
Front...17 X 7 +55
Rear...17 X 8.5 +65
If you do the math your front V3's would have to be +40 offset. 15mm spacer and you will end up with a +40 offset. The rear V3's would have to be +45 offset. To obtain that offset in the rear you would have to get a 20mm spacer. I will give you a wheel tire calculator as well for future troubleshooting towards wheel and tire questions...

s2k dre is correct. ZDan, you have to consider wheel width as well.
You could either do 15mm front, 20mm rear which will be sunk in 3mm compared to your current setup or 20mm front, 25mm rear which will stick out 2mm more than your current setup.

Shouldn't consider wheel width if you want to keep the same relationship between the TIRE and the bodywork.
I stand by my numbers if what's desired is to keep the same clearance between TIRE and fender. If you want the edge of the *wheel* to be in the same place, yeah, you have to offset quite a bit more, but then you run the risk of rubbing, as the tire will be sticking out FURTHER than before.

^^ If he will only be dropped 1 in. all around with the stock 17's w/ 15mm spacer in the front(running 225/45 tire) and 20mm spacer in the rear(running 255/40 tire). There will be no rubbing issues what-so-ever. I ran that setup back when had my eibach springs. Just gotta make sure to have at least the Euro alignment set up.

FWIW, I generally try to give wheel/tire/offset advice on the conservative side. Putting the theoretical outside edge of the tire at the same outboard distance would ensure you have the same clearance.
There will always be people to tell you you can rock 28mm offsets with 255s all around, no problem!
That said, it sounds like 15/20 spacers will work. A better bet than the 18-20/25...
For the street, I'd probably go 215/255.
