Default TRM C3 Discontinued in 17x9

I've been mulling over changing to a square setup and right away turned to pricing out the TRM C3 but to my surprise saw it was missing from TR's website. Perhaps this is news to only myself but TR confirmed that the C3 in at least the 17x9 s2000 friendly offsets has been discontinued and there are no plans to replace it with a new wheel in the lineup.

I know the s2000 is an older platform at this point but it's still disappointing to see our already limited options diminish further. Are there even any reasonably affordable and strong wheels (suitable for AutoX and an occasional track day) left for us at this point?

TRM C4 in 17x9 +45. Spoke design looks like it will clear BBKs too.

tire rack is annoying in that you can't directly search for these wheels. They make you select a vehicle, and then exclude it from the criteria based on what they think will fit. No clue if they make the C4 in the friendlier +60 offset. The +45 will fit fine, though with your standard roll, tab relocation, and very very minor pull (not needed if you run 245s instead of 255).

+45 does not work well for a 255 square setup.
Look around for some used 949 6ULR's. That is my second set of wheels. After the S2k became less competitive in STR with the ND coming out I bet a bunch of used C3's and 6ULR's went up for sale.

The link shows that wheel having a bolt pattern as 5-100. Not sure if they offer another bolt pattern, just PSA.

I've seen some worrying posts of 6UL's cracking, bending, or outright failing recently both on here and other forums. I dunno if that points to a real issue or just a higher count of failures given how common they apparently are. I haven't seen many negative things about the C3's but I am a bit hesitant to buy used wheels in general for safety reasons. Not sure if that is a perceived or actual thing but just a bit leery of not knowing the wheel's history.

Seems like the Wedsport SA72R is about the most affordable but still legit strong wheel that I can find.

For STR - no. For all other applications where rolling your fenders is ok, anything +45 and up in a 10" rim and narrow works fine.

TSW Nurburgring is also a good option. Comes in high offsets, where minimal fender modding is needed. That will work for auto-x STR. They come in 17x9 + 63. They also clear stoptech ST40, which is rare for a wheel with an offset that high.

You can roll fenders in STR. You just cant pull fenders in STR. Mine are rolled and I have +63mm offsets and HAVE had tire to fender contact when I went off course onto the grass and hit a large bump in the process. With +45mm offsets I likely would have been replacing a fender. Luckily it just tweaked the lip a small amount.

Yeah, the TSW isn't the best looker but at $250/wheel (best price I could find) it's about the best deal left.

I don't believe the C4s will clear BBKs. I'm on stock brakes, but the C4s have a bit of concave in the S2000 friendly fitment (I believe it was 17x9 +48) and appeared to have a lot less room than the TC105Ns I run now or my TSW Interlagos (17x9 +63, also a good choice for this car). The C4s will comfortably fit with a slight roll and 245s though. They're also a bit heavy.
