I can get T1Rs for about $550-$600.
They are great tires - I'm not a big fan of kumho, but from what I hear, the MXs are great tires. I think the Toyos are a little more versitile - much better wet traction.

If it was between the Toyo T1S or MX, i'd say MX. The T1R is much improved - stiffer sidewalls, great wet traction, and they can definately hold their own in the dry.

MX vs T1R... T1R. Although your decision has been made

...useless post by me

i got the impression that the t1r is a better tire overall. it seemed like it handled better and it also has better tread wear. one of my main concerns was sidewall stiffness. I hope the MX has stiff sidewalls bc i am used to the RE050 and their super stiff sidewalls.
the toyo was around $100 more for the set. i thought about spending the xtra, but i will most likely have a new set of rims by the time i will need new tires. so, i will buy better tires on the new rims and put on some all seasons on the stock wheels.

Have you considered the Hankook RS-2's?

Nope.. but my set comes in on monday.

Ive had the RE050 and T1r's... and my friend has had the MX's... if its a still sidewall you're looking for the mx's will not have it... i thought (and so did my friend) that they where very soft... you have to put lots of psi in order to make them not feel so mushy.

As for the T1R's.. i thought they had a soft sidewall aswell.. so did this guy at the EVO forums:

He said they rolled completely over when pushed to the limit... ive heard this from acouple people aswell.

Over all i thought they where "OK".. really good all around, just wasnt impressed like i was with my RE050...

Im trying to RS2's cause my friend loves them, says they grip great, and that the sidewalls are much better than the mx's, spt's, es100's, and t1r's.... ill report back to you as soon as i get some miles on them.

looks like bad tire pressure or a leak. that should not happen under any circumstances, it does not matter how hard you drive. definately not the tire's fault.

T1r's will not be as good as the RE050s when it comes to dry traction or tracking a car, but for normal driving, which 99% of us do 98% of the time, I'll take the T1Rs.

Personally, I like the s03s much better than the RE050s

The T1Rs are also a very light tire. S03s and Re050s are heavy.

very heavy = bfg kdw2

really? i know that the re050 are good tires, but i thought they did not perform as well in the dry as other summer tires. mayeb its bc the tread pattern does not look as "hardcore"

hmmmm

The RE050's are some of the best tires you can buy.... just exspensive.
