Default Toyo T1-S tires

I've been doing some research and it seems that these tires would serve well on my S. I gather that the correct sizes would be 205/55-16 and 245/45-16, right? Also, does anyone know where I can get these for a good price. I don't think that Tire Rack carries them. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Jim. And, if you can sell them to me what would be your price? Thanks in advance.

I am considering these tires (on the rear to start with) too and I am VERY interested in user comments!!!!!!

Best regards,

Siepel

PS: Marc, I hope you don't mind the piggy-back ride...

Yes, 205/55/16 and 245/45/16 is correct for the T1-S setup.

Overall, these tires are going to be considered a daily commute tire that has some performance.
The sidewalls are pretty soft, and the tread width is not too wide. But I will tell you that the wet weather handling characteristics are top notch.

I used the T1-S for the rear of my 18x8.5 volks, in which I used a 255/35/18 size. The tread width is not wider than the OEM S02 225/50/16.

Switching from S02's to 245/45/16 T1-S will dramatically decrease your dry weather performance, and a huge gain in wet weather handling characteristics and tread life. Another plus is that the T1-S is one of the lightest tires.

If you don't want to take such a big step down in dry weather performance, try the S03's.

Thanks for the useful info!!!

What would be the step up in wet weather performance for the 245-s S03 compaired to stock 225-s S02??

Marclw, keep in mind tread width also affects wet weather performance. For one of the very reasons the SO-2 is better than the Toyo in the dry (more contact patch per like-sized tire) it is that width which makes it inherently more prone to hyrdoplaning. The main reason for the Proxes' wet weather performance is of course, its tread style, which helps to remove water much more effectively than the Bridgestone. IF you plan on doing a decent amount of wet weather driving, the Toyo is a much safer tire than the S0-2, but as Phantom suggested, consider the S0-3 which bridges the gap nicely.
