Ian,
If I may "chime in here" and offer a suggetion. I've experience with s02's and Kuhmo Ecsta MX's and from what I gather about the Toyo T1 Proxes is that they are very similar to the Ecsta MX's in a medium street tire. I don't think they are going to be as "sticky" in the dry as the s02's. I do not think they will be as good as the s03's in the wet. But fear not as they are a decent competitor. I would hope they are better than the Kuhmo 712's as IMO every s2000 should stay away from those. But that is my personal bias.
Here is PHANTOM'S post re: Toyo T1-S
Yes, 205/55/16 and 245/45/16 is correct for the T1-S setup.
Overall, these tires are going to be considered a daily commute tire that has some performance.
The sidewalls are pretty soft, and the tread width is not too wide. But I will tell you that the wet weather handling characteristics are top notch.
I used the T1-S for the rear of my 18x8.5 volks, in which I used a 255/35/18 size. The tread width is not wider than the OEM S02 225/50/16.
Switching from S02's to 245/45/16 T1-S will dramatically decrease your dry weather performance, and a huge gain in wet weather handling characteristics and tread life. Another plus is that the T1-S is one of the lightest tires.
hope that helps ?

Had a set of T1-S on stock rims...205/55 and 245/45.
Actually, I went through 1 set of fronts and 2 sets of rears in 21000 miles. They could probably last a bit longer, but I drive pretty hard and I have my alignment set fairly agressive. Overall performance is good, especially in the wet. However, I would not buy them again. They cost as much as OEM SO2's, don't last any longer and are VERY noisy when worn.

Simon, thanks for your responce and hooking me up with this deal, but i am still unsure about how this will affect the overall handling of the car. I hope not too much in a negative way.
Theres got to be more people on here with this set-up. Common peeps speak up!....
Can anyone tell me what tire pressures theyre runnin and also alignment specs with this tire???
THanks

Not to hi-jack this thread but it seems that on this board, the Evolution Autosports cars swear by these tires, and on other boards and in magazines I see TONS of cars with the T1-S, are they really not in the top 2 or 3 tires available?

I have the T1-S set-up 205/55/16 and 245/45/16 with about 12000 mile and I need new rear tires. I wasn't very impressed with them. I will be getting Kuhmo MX's for rear. This time around.
