Toyo T1-S or Falken GR-Beta FK-451?????
Well, I have to decide on tires for my new 18" wheels. Volk GT-C 18x7.5 +50 offset front and 18x8.5 +50 offset rear
What is the better tire........ the Toyo T1-S or Falken GR-Beta FK-451?????
Pro's and cons of each?
Anybody had experience with either tire? I've PM'd Phantom as he is very knowledgable, but I'm not sure if he's around tonight and I need to give the anwers to the wheel shp tonight.
All opinions welcomed.
Thanks!!
PS. My tire sizes I'mm likely going with are:
FR: 225/40/18
RR: 245/35/18

The dry weather performance of the Toyo's will be superior to the Falken's and the wet weather characteristics will be the same for both. The Falken's should wear a bit longer than the sticky Toyo's. FWIW, I have never read a bad review on the T1-S Proxes tire. They are priced a bit higher than the Falken and to me, look a bit more aggressive (if tire asthetics are important).

I am getting Falken GRB FK451 for 17" on Friday and will have a report a few hundred Ks later on about my impressions~
F: 17x7 215/45/17 (actual section width is 211mm)
R: 17x8 235/40/17 (actual section width is 243mm)
It wont be really be comparison though...since I have nothing else to compare against!
My past experience prior to this would be the 16" stock S02s, but that wont apply since i'm going 17s now...
Anyway for what its worth, I choose these Falkens because:
1) Cheaper than most other high performance tyres... I rate these as the best of the B-Grades (S02s are A-Grade)
2) Mates using them tell me they are great wet-weather tyres, and it does rain quite a bit here during winter in New Zealand
3) Longer thread life than my previous rubbers (S02s)
I'm hoping these characteristics would suit me better as my S2K is my current daily driver and I will save my harsh driving with my 16"+Racing Tyres
